Coach's,
AA Tournament
It has been a tradition since I started it years ago, to have a tournament at the end of the spring AA season.
This year, when Heather made the original schedule she put more regular season games than normal and stretched it out into the time period we would normally have started the tournament. I immediately called her and asked why. She indicated that a few of the other leagues wouldn't be able to have fields into May and that the Orem complex wasn't going to allow us to have the tournament there for free anymore. I spoke with the other club presidents and we agreed to split the cost for the complex rental and do what it took for the tournament. Although it would put us in the red, because of extra regular season game already scheduled, we wanted the tournament. And, it was going to push us back into may because games were already scheduled.
However, then it snowed, and snowed, and snowed.
Not only did it push back our season, but city programs and school district programs. I have been trying to work with schools and cities for weeks to come up with a viable solution to have our wonderful tournament. I haven't been able to come up with a solution. Cities have moved their games into slots and won't let us use them. And school have end of school activities and sports they are squeezing in.
Once tryouts are done, and school is out, we should have access to have some fields. At that time we will find out which of you would like to participate in a short mid summer tournament.
Also, our club is hosting a state tournament July 19-22 in Orem. Each of our team will get a good discount.
Next Season
Please communicate with your team ASAP about your plans for next year.
If you are going to coach, great and thanks!!!
If you are not, thanks, but please let me know first, so that we can try and come up with a solution for your kids other than tryouts.
Often another parent is willing to do it, that is one of the best solutions if you won't be able to.
If you ARE coaching, please let your team know so that they don't panic and go to any other tryouts. Please also complete this form as soon as possible whether you need players or not.

If you are interested in your team being a club team, let me know and I can get you the details. But basically, we charge 90% to 50% less than any other club as we are not making money off it like they are. Registering as as simple as clicking a different box on a form. If you were winning all your games in AA, you don't need to change to a club team, but you can.
Unless your kid is the .001%(if your kid is, you already know it and everyone else knows it), paying huge amounts of money to play soccer is a waste of money and often time. Plus out of curiosity, I just looked at standings, and in the fall. Surf has 3 times as many club teams as we do. Yet they had a team place in 1st or 2nd in their divisions 8 times. We had 5, but had 60% less club teams. La Roca/Arsenal had 12. But once again, we have 60% less club teams. So, statistically, we have more teams winning the club divisions per number of teams. Pretty interesting!! And congratulations to our amazing coach's.
Also, a shout out to Danny Mason who started out coaching one of our AA teams, and in addition to having the top teams in the state year after year, now has the only undefeated 6A boys high school team(Lone Peak).
Thanks,
David Josse
