How to Register a Provisional Team

Email the following information to [email protected] before the deadline:

  • Team Name: Must end in “Provisional” or “HSP.” The league may determine the final naming format.
  • Age Group / Birth Year: Based on the birth year of the oldest player. Example: 2007 = oldest player birth year.
  • Head Coach: Full name, phone number, and email address.
  • Complete Player List: Full legal name and birth year for each player. No nicknames.

If your team already played in the fall, a new player list is not required.

Registration Deadlines

  • Girls Teams: August 11
  • Boys Teams: Wednesday, March 11

Provisional Fees

  • $110: Players already registered with a UCSC team this seasonal year.
  • $160: Players registered with another club this seasonal year.
  • $260: Players playing Provisional only and not registered to a club/competitive team.
  • NUCS U15–U19 Two-Season Total: $390 — Fall: $280 / Spring: $110. The spring fee is only charged if the player participates in spring.

Season Structure — U15–U19 Only

Teams play one season of club/competitive soccer and may also participate in Provisional.

  • Girls: Provisional in fall / club-competitive in spring.
  • Boys: Club-competitive in fall / Provisional in spring.

Coaching & Compliance Requirements

  • Each roster must have two properly licensed or waivered coaches. Minimum requirement: USSF Grassroots/E License or approved waiver.
  • All rostered administrators must complete SafeSport and Concussion training and upload certificates before appearing on the roster.
  • Players must register to their club/competitive team before registering for Provisional, unless they are playing Provisional only.

Important Notes

  • Most players must be manually added to the team by the registrar. Submit information early to allow processing before UYSA state deadlines.
  • Provisional rosters may include players from different clubs.
  • Players may only participate on one provisional roster per season unless multi-rostering. Additional forms and fees are required.
  • UYSA determines brackets after all teams are submitted. Register your team in the correct age group based on the oldest player.
  • Players participating on a high school team may not play Provisional, even after the high school season ends.
  • NUCS/UCSC deadlines are based on UYSA deadlines and are subject to change.
