Important UYSA Reschedule Rules
Every Team Is Limited to Two Reschedules
Every team is allowed a maximum of two coach-to-coach reschedules.
If your team initiates the reschedule, it counts against your two allowed reschedules—even if you are helping another team.
Coaches Are Not Required to Agree
Coaches are not required to agree to a reschedule. Reschedules create additional work for field assignors, referee assignors, and the opposing team. Whenever possible, games should be played as originally scheduled.
Reschedule Deadline & Fees
Coach-to-coach reschedules are fee-free only during the UYSA reschedule window, generally the first two weeks after schedules are released.
- After the deadline, a $50 UYSA reschedule fee is required.
- The entire reschedule—including the opponent's acceptance—must be completed before the deadline.
Coach-to-Coach Reschedules Are Automatic
UYSA does not approve coach-to-coach reschedules. Once both teams complete the process correctly, the game updates automatically.
Referee & Field Approval Is Required
Before anyone initiates a reschedule in Affinity, Field Assignor approval and Referee Assignor approval MUST already be obtained.
For NUCS/UCSC teams, submitting the Club Reschedule Form and waiting for approval satisfies this requirement.
- No referees being assigned.
- The game being moved back to the original date.
- The game becoming impossible to reschedule.
Other Reschedules (Not Coach-to-Coach)
Some games are not rescheduled through the coach-to-coach process.
Examples include:
- Smoke or poor air quality.
- Weather-related field closures.
- Unsafe fields declared by the referee.
- State Cup conflicts.
- US Youth Regional or National event conflicts.
- Other UYSA-approved situations.
These are coordinated by David Josse with UYSA.
